As part of its 20th Anniversary, the USLMRA is pleased to announce the V-Twin Shootout has become the U.S. Open V-Twin Shootout.

The 2nd annual U.S. Open V-Twin Shootout will be held August 11-12, 2012 at the Vestaburg Kart Speedway, in Vestaburg, Michigan.

“We’re thrilled to be back with the 2nd annual V-Twin Shootout and to have the event become part of the U.S. Open Series,” said Event Co-Founder Ferris Hipolite, President of the Ithaca (MI) Dirt Devils, a USLMRA Affiliated Club.

The event will be again be co-hosted by the Dirt Devils and the Western Ontario Outlaws. “It’s one you don’t want to miss,” said Co-Founder Ryan Kerr of the Western Ontario Outlaws. “All the fastest v-twins around, and some of the biggest names in lawnmower racing will be there to mix it up for the 2012 U.S. Open V-TWIN SHOOTOUT Title. It will be an awesome display of fast-paced high horsepower racing on this ultra fast, banked clay 1/8-mile oval kart track. Find out if you have what it takes to bring home the 2011 v-twin shootout TITLE on August 13th-14th at the Vestaburg Speedway in Michigan, no second place trophies here guys. It will be the largest display of Outlaw/Supermod twins ever assembled; all machines and classes are welcome.”

“The event will basically be run like last,” added Ferris. “And new this year will be the Open Twins competing for the V Twin Cup! First Place trophies and the same classes as last year, and we may add one or take one away as needed but the same principles: try and get everyone in classes were they can compete. Plus, just like last year, all mowers are welcome, not just the V-Twins and the Super Mods. C’mon out and join us.”

“The real upside is that this should draw a larger group of racers!
Dave Freeman from Vestaburg is excited about the Shootout and our group. We look forward to seeing you there!”

This race will be part of a multi-race U.S. Open Series that will end in on September 2, in Delaware, Ohio during STA-BIL Nationals Weekend.

As the USLMRA celebrates our 20th Year in 2012, we are proud to announce the formation of the U.S. Open Points Series. The U.S. Open will afford a wide range of lawnmower racers an opportunity to participate in a USLMRA National Level Race without having to qualify for the USLMRA STA-BIL Keeps Gas Fresh Finals.

“It’s time for lawn mower racers to put their faces on a maintenance schedule,” said Candace Chen, FaceLube® founder and owner. “For lawn mower racers, as for all men, proper face care is not about vanity, and it’s not about looking young – it’s about looking good. It’s about getting the edge and getting ahead of the competition. FaceLube® celebrates masculinity and communicates with men through their natural affinity to their rides.”

It is in this spirit of mens’ affinity to their rides that FaceLube® will support the Sam Rogers U.S. All American Open, November 4-6 in Stevenson, Alabama. The “All American” will bring together lawn mower racers from across the country to honor the late Sam Rogers, a lawn mower racer who recently passed away.

Adult Racing Class Champions will receive FaceLube® Premium Kits and Spirit & Spark Trophy Winners will receive FaceLube® Standard Kits. In addition, all adult racers will receive FaceLube® Anti-Aging Sunscreen.

“Lawn mower racers are real men. They need to look good and get a competitive edge,” added Chen, a leading authority on the marketing of Masculine Face Care™ products. “FaceLube®, just like a custom racing mower, is built from the ground up, and uses no common beauty terms with female characteristics. Because men and women age differently, masculine men have different needs and preferences than women. We’re proud to support lawn mower racing and the men who drive the sport forward.” Chen also has more than 18 years in the automotive industry as a Los Angeles-based manufacturer and distributor of automotive service equipment and specialty products.

“Over the past 20 years, I’ve seen the faces of a lot of male lawn mower races, and I’m sure glad to have FaceLube® join us in helping them look good and help fight the aging that comes with the stress of being a competitive lawn mower racer,” said Bruce Kaufman, “Mr. Mow It All,” president of the U.S. Lawn Mower Racing Association (USLMRA). “Just like the maintenance required to allow our racing machines to tear up the turf, racers’ faces need maintenance too.”

During November of each year, the Movember charitable movement is responsible for the sprouting of mustaches on thousands of men’s faces across the US and around the world! With their moustaches, these men raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

In support of this noble cause, and in the spirit of having fun while doing so, the USLMRA announces the creation of MOWvember, and will support this international effort with an Official USLMRA Movember.com Fundraising Team and a USLMRA MOWvember Mustache Contest!

“Much like we remove the blades from our racing mowers, this November we’ll remove the blades from our razors to raise awareness and money for men’s health,” said Bruce Kaufman, “Mr. Mow It All” USLMRA President. “Some call it Movember, but we say… Welcome to MOWvember! We hope folks will join our team and get MOWTIVATED to raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG, the Lance Armstrong Foundation. But the winner of “best ‘stache” contest will not be selected on how much money he raises, but by the popular vote of the lawn mower racing community at LetsMow.com and on Facebook! ”

How It Works

During MOWvember, the USLMRA will encourage people to raise funds via an Official USLMRA Movember.com Team run by Bruce ‘Mr. MowItAll’ Kaufman and will also present its own MOWvember Mustache Contest for the lawn mower racing community.

Between now and the end of the Sam Rodgers U.S. All American Open race in Alabama – November 7th - guys register using the links below with a clean-shaven face. For the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men must groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. MOWvember participants and the women in their lives raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts and growing a mustache effectively makes you a walking, talking billboard for the 30 days of MOWvember!

At the end of the month, MOWvember Mustache Contest participants will submit final photos of their kick grass mustache and a week-long voting period will be opened to the lawn mower racing community. Voting will take place on Facebook and LetsMow.com, and at the end of the week, the winner of the MOWvember Mustache Contest will be notified and the Prize Pack will be shipped to him.

It’s time to stop endless Google searches and spending on expensive repair costs. This fall Partstree.com is the one-click, easy-to-use source for a vast assortment of in-stock OEM lawn mower parts for all major brands, shipped promptly and accurately with a flexible return policy.

It’s only fitting that the USLMRA announces today that Partstree.com will be a partner of its STA-BIL Lawn and Garden Mower Racing Series and will support the Sam Rogers U.S. All American Open, November 4-6 in Stevenson, Alabama. The “All American” will bring together hobby lawn mower racers from across the country to honor the late Sam Rogers, a lawn mower racer who recently passed away.

“The American handyman and the STA-BIL lawn mower racer is satisfied to be hunkered down in his garage in October, radio tuned to the World Series, NFL game or NASCAR® race, using his tools to do lawn mower repairs with parts from Partstree.com. That’s DIY bliss,” said Bruce Kaufman, “Mr. Mow It All,” President of the U.S. Lawn Mower Racing Association (USLMRA), the nation’s oldest and largest national racing mower sanctioning body. “It all starts with Partstree.com.”

“PartsTree.com sells more OEM parts than any other servicing dealer in the U.S. We are the number one dealer for MTD, Cub Cadet, Troy-Bilt, White Outdoor, Toro, Lawn Boy, Husqvarna, Echo, and Tecumseh parts, and we sell parts for all of our brands in large volumes,” said Lise Harding, Director of Business Development at Partstree.com. “Partstree.com caters to DIY. American ingenuity is alive and well, especially in this economy. The large volume of OEM parts we sell in October, and our support of the STA-BIL Mower Racing Series in November, prove that fall is really ‘DIY Tinker Time’ in the U.S.”

Partstree.com stocks over 30,000 part numbers from most of the major lawn mower, chain saw, blowers, tillers and trimmer manufacturers, and it orders and receives parts every day. It likely stocks the parts you need and if they don’t, they order them promptly for quick shipment upon receipt. PartsTree.com is committed to excellent customer experience, providing the broadest selection of parts, the best tools available to find the parts customers need, shipping orders promptly and accurately, and being helpful, friendly and proactive in customer support and communication. Partstree.com has a 30-day return policy with NO restocking fee – including special orders or electrical parts.

The “All American” will bring together lawn mower racers from across the country to honor the late Sam Rogers, a lawn mower racer who recently passed away.

Slime understands time is precious, both in a lawn mower race and in everyday life. Whether you’re a busy parent, avid cyclist, or hard-working farmer no one has time to spare.

Since 1989, Slime has been committed to providing our customers with high quality, innovative tire care products. As the worldwide leader in tire care, we offer a complete line that allows us to present retailers and distributors with a category solution, while giving customers the tools they need to care for their tires, save money, and stay safe.

Now widely distributed in over 80 countries, the Slime brand came from humble beginnings. The first bottles of Slime sealant were blended by hand with a power drill and drywall blade in a garage on the Central Coast of California. In such close proximity to mountain biking trails and sandy dunes perfect for off-roading, it didn’t take long for the “green slimy stuff”, as it was often referred to back then, to develop a following. The Slime name stuck—and twenty years later our sealants are still blended and bottled on the Central Coast of California.

With our Slime green sealants at the heart of our business, our commitment to being green continues to go deeper than the brand color. We are dedicated to creating products that are safe for the user, the tire, and the environment—as solidified by Slime’s Green Promise.

“Slime saves you time and money by preventing flat tires anywhere you roll, including on the lawn mower racing track,” said Bruce Kaufman, “Mr. Mow It All,” President of the U.S. Lawn Mower Racing Association (USLMRA), the nation’s oldest and largest national racing mower sanctioning body. “Don’t let a nail or thorn waste your time, stress you out or cost you a race. Slime gives you peace of mind.”

50 LiquiVac™ Oil Change Systems will be given to racers at the Sam Rogers All American.

The LiquiVac™ Oil Change System looks like a little blue Dachshund, but it takes a big bite out of a homeowner’s fall lawn mower maintenance with an innovative process that only takes seconds to suck oil out of lawn mowers for a quick, clean and eco-friendly oil change. Most lawn mower manufacturers recommend an oil change every 25-50 hours for peak performance and to reduce engine wear, so LiquiVac™ can help extend engine life, and used along with STA-BIL Fuel Stabilizer in the fall, prepares outdoor power equipment for proper storage between seasons.

“Lawn mower racers, like NASCAR® pit crews, know that good oil drives good performance, and the LiquiVac™ Oil Change System is the easiest way to keep oil clean in small power equipment,” said Bruce Kaufman, “Mr. Mow It All,” President of the USLMRA, the nation’s oldest and largest national racing mower sanctioning body, celebrating its’ 20th Anniversary in 2012. “LiquiVac™ lets lawn mower racers change their engine oil fast to keep their edge. It’s also a perfect, quick way for smart homeowners to do inexpensive power equipment maintenance, especially in this economy.”

“Most homeowners run lawn mowers hard for months in dusty conditions, which can lead to dirty, grimy oil and ultimately cause engine breakdowns, especially if you let dirty oil sit in your machine during storage. The LiquiVac™ Oil Change System effortlessly takes the mess out of fall lawn mower maintenance,” said Barry Kearns, president of Air Power America, maker of LiquiVac™. “LiquiVac™ creates a powerful vacuum that cleanly pumps your engine oil into a durable holding tank through a hose inserted in the engine’s dipstick tube. It only takes a few seconds.”

LiquiVac™ works on any push mower or riding mower including Briggs & Stratton, Toro, Snapper, Snapper, Troy-Bilt, Husqvarna, Cub Cadet, Bolens, Honda, Kubota, Ariens, Tecumseh and Craftsman, as well as for garden tractors, tillers, generators, snow throwers, ATVs and outboard motors. There are two LiquiVac™ Oil Change System models: a small model (3 quarts capacity) and large model (8 quarts). It’s sold at Home Depot, Lowes, Tractor Supply, Do-It-Best, Northern Tool and Grainger stores. The LiquiVac™ website at www.liquivac.com provides how-to demonstration videos.

Can you feel the HEAT? Can you taste the SHRIMP? Can you smell the GAS? Can you feel the ANTICIPATION? Can you breathe the HUMIDITY? Can you inhale the DUST? Can you feel your face break out in SMILE? Can you see the RAIN? Can you hear the ROAR? Can you revel in the GLORY? Can you LAUGH? Can you CRY? You can? You did? Yeah, me too! And so it was at the 20th Annual STA-BIL Nationals Weekend in Delaware, MOWhio. Man, what a weekend.

As our extended family of lawn mower racers gathered for our annual End of Summer ritual, Mother Nature decided to throw us some curve balls, including two of the hottest days in the Buckeye State this year along with a dose of rain that would make Oregon proud.

But we were up to the challenge, and with some schedule shifting and racers willing to brave the Saturday heat, we made it happen.

The STA-BIL Keeps Gas Fresh Finals on Saturday night saw some of the best lawn mower racing action this side of the Atlantic; the food and camaraderie were unsurpassed; the Hall of Fame Ceremonies were as always, moving and emotional; and our annual Awards Banquet was the perfect capper to the weekend.

With 115 mowers on site, it was one of our best-attended Nationals in recent years. As always, our national race staff ensured a quality event for all our racers: Kerry Evans, Manny Torres, Rodney Peeler, Richard Webb, Chrissy Webb, Bobbie Peeler, Barry “B-Man” Sullivan, Lou Filos, Wally Bender, Bud Elmore, Lee Vine, Sarah from Maryland have my personal thanks for stepping up and kicking grass.

Our venue host, the Delaware Agricultural Society was as laws an accommodating and enthusiastic host, with Tim Wood, Larry Moreland, Al Myers and Matt Strine making sure we were well taken care of.

Our sponsors stepped up as well, with Blitz USA providing EZ Lift Rider Ramps and Hand-E Haulers for every racer along with K&N Filters who provided gift certificates and financial support.

And of course, Gold Eagle Co., makers of STA-BIL Fuel Stabilizer, who has been absolutely wonderful in their support, nurturing and oversight of the USLMRA since 1992 – 20 YEARS!!!!

The following is from Marc Blackman, President / CEO Gold Eagle Co. and USLMRA Board Chairman:

On behalf of the U.S. Lawn Mower Racing Association, Gold Eagle Company, and the Delaware Agricultural Society, thank you for attending the 20th annual STA-BIL Nationals Weekend. It’s hard to believe that 20 years ago we were busy planning for the first STA-BIL Nationals, and yet here we are, kicking grass and while mowing and growing every year. Our 2011 STA-BIL Nationals Weekend will again bring together racers from across America and Canada for three days of racing, camaraderie and fun. The USLMRA has been working hard all year to plan an event that will bring you safe, fun and enjoyable competition while opening our build rules so that racers from various sanctioning bodies and independent groups can be here. We have a truly great weekend of racing and socializing in store for you. Gold Eagle Company remains committed to the USLMRA and the sport of lawn mower racing. Plans are already underway for our 20th Anniversary Year in 2012 so stay tuned!

As is tradition, Gold Eagle Co. STA-BIL and the USLMRA are proud to provide some special gifts for racers at the STA-BIL Nationals.

A Personalized Racing Action Photo.

A Commemorative Coffee Mug.

A DVD copy of our Fox Sports Net TV shows (to be sent later this Fall).

Some of my favorite memories from the weekend, in no particular order include: helping Tina Paccione gather up the pit of George G. Feldman IV before the rain came; the tears in Jackie Andrews’ eyes as she accepted the 2011 Dave Hertel Mowtivaiton Award; meeting Sammie and Marion Neel and Scott and Michelle Bittle from Texas; watching Lee Grover race in the AP Finals; watching Ron Rollman race in the BP Finals; grooving on John Nelson’s “Mow Longer” and the CCCCCP Class; taking photos of John Michael “Shorty” Bell and his dad Mike in the TV winners circle after Finals; shrimp and Conecuh sausage (YUM!); the expression on George Herrin’s face as he spoke of the racer that his son Jake has become; seeing Art Neavill and John Nelson indicted into the Hall of Fame; remembering Charles Powell; receiving a new watch from Jim Maurice; being in the presence of Rocket Man Pat Sullivan; the pure joy in Jason Brown’s face after wining both the SP and BP Finals; being around Wally Bender and seeing him redefine the word Gentleman on an ongoing basis.

And these memories just scratch the surface of the 2011 STA-BIL Nationals Weekend.

2012 is our 20th Anniversary Season, so look out HERE WE MOW!

It’s time to start packing (if you haven’t already!) for STA-BIL Nationals Weekend including the STA-BIL Keeps Gas Fresh Finals and the U.S. Open, so we wanted to give you a few reminders of things to bring with you, and things you will not be allowed to bring. We also wanted to let the newbies to the Finals and U.S. Open know what to expect when you arrive. It makes everything go a lot smoother at Registration and Paddock if everyone is on the same page.

Entering the Delaware County Fairgrounds or parking lots from US 2: Bear to the right through the Main Gate of the Fairgrounds and you will see pits and track on your right. Proceed to the pit area and setup in an orderly fashion. We are expecting a large participant turnout so be reverent when setting up your pit area (size). But don’t worry, we have plenty of pit area and overflow parking and pits. If you arrive in an RV and need electrical hook-up, stop by the Registration Table at Kerry Evans’ EOP Trailer. Kerry’s trailer serves as Race Command. Look for someone wearing an official laminate Staff Grass Pass and they can help you.

One Driver and Crew are free, all others must pay for insurance. You can purchase additional insurance wristbands at the registration table.

We are anticipating a large participant turnout so please, please, please, if you want to pit/camp together, arrive together or within a reasonable amount of time. If this is not possible, you can save a reasonable put space for your buddies. We understand that this may not always work out that great but it will reduce the amount of jockeying around trucks trailers and vehicles to accommodate everyone.

Again in 2011 for the U.S. Open, we are inviting everyone from everywhere, USLMRA member or not! All that been to a STA-BIL National USLMRA event in the past few years has seen the awesome Timing & Scoring system that Kerry Evans of EOP Pro provides to the USLMRA. Kerry and staff have assured me that they have us covered for the weekend, no matter how big the race field gets. We will also have enough race stewards, tech inspectors, flaggers, track maintenance people and support staff on hand to deliver a well-run event. The weekend will include:

19th Annual STA-BIL Keeps Gas Fresh Finals*

* The STA-BIL Keeps Gas Fresh Finals will be taped for Fox Sports Net, and will air in October with exact dates to be announced.

** PME Vendors will set up in or adjacent to the Race Pits with easy access for racers. There will be no set hours for the PME this year, as it will now take place all weekend at the discretion of the vendors.
Hosted by Estacada Area Community Events (EACE) and organized by USLMRA West Coast Regional Director Bud Elmore, mowmentum and expectations for this weekend were high since October 2010 when Bud first made a site inspection to Estacada to meet Race Promoter and EACE Chairman Dan Skoog. These expectations were met and exceeded from the moment Kerry and I arrived on site to meet an army of volunteers, who created the Northwest Technologies Mow Bang Raceway.

Immediately upon meeting up with Gary Tucker, President of the local Northwest Lawn Mower Racing Association (NWLMRA) and NWLMRA members Scott MacFarlane, Tim Dennison, Mike and Melody Berkheiser, Dave Miller and Jim Knutson we knew we were going to have a fun weekend.

The cooperation, dedication and over all MOWtivation (sorry, I really mean it!) of the entire EACE team was apparent from the minute we pulled into the festival site, where Kerry and I witnessed the transformation of property owner Mike Park’s open fields into both an event site and one of the nicest lawn mower racing tracks we have ever seen. The time and effort Bud put into this was apparent, as we walked the 10th mile dirt/clay track.

Friday morning saw us up before the roosters crowed, as we had a TV gig with KGW TV Portland personality Drew Carney for his “Out and About” segment. Drew is a very popular TV personality in Portland, and local Estacada folks turned out to see EACE Committee Member Steve Stone and USLMRA lawn mower racers promote the weekend events. Drew was awesome! He was very cool and loved the racing lawn mowers. When he was allowed to drive one, you could see him grin ear to ear. We were the featured attraction of his morning show, with several “teaser” segments and longer interviews during Drew’s two-hour gig.

At 7:00 am, Drew’s segment was over, so Kerry and I popped over to Mount Hood so Kerry could see a real mountain! Upon our return we met up with Bob Newman and the Sac Valley Lawn Mower Racers from Sacramento. Bob and his wife Sylvia, Wes Laster, Chris Poncin and his family, Steve Heald and his family, Ed and Nick Weinmoritz and their extended family along with Bob’s grandson racer Eric Munoz were all awesome.

After a trip to the local grocery store to stock up on steak, burgers, brats and assorted munchies, we headed back to the pits for a camp fire and barbecue under the brilliant Pacific Northwest stars, surrounded by pine, spruce and Douglas Fir. The smell of campfire smoke and barbecue charcoal wafted across the spacious, grassy pit area. It was awesome.

Saturday morning was Race Day Number 1, and we were ready to meet many new racers and friends: FFF/WOO crew from Washington rolled in, led by their leader Kevin Rogers along with the Kushel brothers and Justin McCorkle. Randy Marshall, Ryan Whitney and the Sportsman Grasscar Racing Club from Wamic, Oregon pulled in next. Many local racers from Estacada got the bug and joined the fun. More members of the Northwest Mower Racing Association rolled in, including Aaron Bany and Nick Munson.

The racers were issued their transponders, with great help provided by Melody Berkheiser, and after a smooth tech inspection directed by Bob Newman of the Sac Valley Racers, and a driver’s meeting, it was mow time.

The track was in top shape, and the EACE crew led by Mike Mofford was on top of things all day, and the entire weekend. Speeds kept going up as the track settled into its groove. Aaron Bany and Kevin Rogers were especially impressive, turning lap times of 15.523 and 15.945 on the 10th mile dirt track. Compete race results can be found here.

Day 1 concluded with the presentation of some AMAZING trophies from event sponsor Northwest Technologies. Thanks to Eric Sale for provided the trophies, which were custom, etched mirrors in the shape of the state of Oregon. Awesome! Saturday’s events also saw yours truly take a turn in the dunk tank to raise money for a 9-11 charity flag tour and join in on keyboard for the blues jam band on stage for Mustang Sally, Sweet Home Chicago and Further on up the Road. I did not make my usual $4.00, but what the heck. Day 1 concluded with a scare, with our good friend Bud Elmore landing in the hospital due to severe dehydration after working his tail off on the track for 5 days. Fortunately, we all found out Bud was OK, and he returned to the track on Sunday.

With Sunday Registration opening at 11:00am, Kerry and I met up with Mike Mofford and Scott Shaw, two old buddies, for a jet boat white water rapid run down the Clackamas River. Very, very cool. We put in at Oregon City, the termination point of the famous Oregon Trail, and headed up the Clackamas, shooting rapids, tossing some casts and digging the surroundings. Mike and Scott knew every inch of the river, and every fishing hole. Kerry and I hustled back to the track, and pulled in at 10:59 am for Racer Registration…. with one minute to spare…whew!!!!

Day 2, Sunday, was more casual, as are most 2nd days of race weekends. Registration was a breeze, with Melody Berkheiser again helping out at Registration. Tech Inspection was a cursory safety check and after heat laps and practice, it was game on for Day 2. Kerry had timing and scoring well in control from the trailer provided as Race Command. Scott McFarlane did a fine job as Chief Steward. Melody Berkheiser served as Pit Marshall, Gary Tucker handed announcing duties, and I got to sit back in an easy chair and watch it all unfold! The U.S. Open Twin race between Aaron Bany and Bob Newman was a highlight of the day… here’s some video:

I would also like to give a special Way To Mow to Clara Ann McFarlane and Mike Mofford who made their debut in the IMOW Class on Sunday. And, of course the highlight of the day was the triumphant return of Bud Elmore to the track.

And there you have it….one of the best race weekends I ever had: the people in Estacada, the new racers we met, the track, the fun, the pit partying…awesome. And here is the best news yet: We’ll be back in 2012!!!!!

Rolling Starts will be used at Bowles Farms in all classes, STA-BIL Series and U.S. Open Classes. We are working on the logistics of A Mains, B Mains, qualifying, 2 lap time trials for Bowles Farms Weekend.

FREE Membership for First Time US National Points Racers will be offered at Bowles Farms. USLMRA understands that with the price of gas going up throughout this racing season, travel will be difficult. And for some even jobs have been on the line, alone just the cost of living going up. It has been our goal with the announcement of the US Open Series along with the announcement of Rolling Starts to attract all racers who would like to participate the right to do so. Last season we lowered the cost of our membership to $20.00 to help our members. We are able to achieve this with the help of our sponsors and event fees. At Bowles Farms, all First Time Racers that sign in at the Registration Table will be given free 2011 USLMRA Membership. This is a savings of $20.00 to you to get you started. You will still need to fill out a Membership Form at the event so we can put your information in the database to achieve your National Points.

USLMRA membership fee is not required to compete in the U.S. Open Classes. STA-BIL Series Racers/USLMRA Members can also compete in the U.S. Open Classes if they wish. This will give USLMRA racers a chance to meet, race and socialize with some new friends at one of the finest lawn mower racing facilities in the country. Racers from all sanctioning bodies and groups are welcome to come out and run at BOWLES FARMS.

Separate races will be run and trophies awarded for the U.S. Open Classes.

If you have not raced at Bowles Farms in the past you will be “AMAZED”! Tommy and Tina Bowles along with Ronnie Mattingly and his crew spare no expense when it comes to putting on a great venue. The track is absolutely terrific, with smooth clay, plenty wide and lights all around. Racing under the lights allows gives the track great grip and a smoking fast track.

In 2009, the track was redone and a clay surface has been added – it will be 30 ft wide, over 700 ft long, and promises to be fast and smooth as smooth can be. Covered grandstands, hay bails for miles, pit parking for everyone, track help by the truck load, air conditioned restrooms, camping room for an army of racers and mow; however there will be no hook ups for campers and RV’s. Restrooms are open until 10 pm daily and they will also have portable facilities. Barry “B Man” Sullivan and Bubba from SSS Entertainment will be on hand all weekend to keep y’all entertained!

This is a lawn mower racing event for the whole family to attend with other activities including Children’s Moon Bounce, Kiddy Tractor Pull, John Deere Toy Display, K-9 Demonstrations and Antique Tractors on Display, Face Painting, and Barry “B Man” Sullivan from SSS Entertainment keeping the party mowing after the races on Saturday night. New this year, on Saturday, will be a Mini Excavator Challenge, and racers who are good with using operating equipment are invited to compete for prizes.

Last year over 9,200 spectators witnessed 2 days of spectacular racing. This year drivers will be provided to meals on Friday and again on Saturday.

Spectator admission is $8.00 per person, children 8 and under free. The races benefit the 7th District Rescue Squad and the 7th District Optimist Club. Here is their Facebook Page: St.Mary’s County National Lawn Mower Racing.

There will be only one entrance for the racers to come in to the pits, thus when you arrive with your mowers we will be admitting 1 racer and 1 crew member, everyone else will pay admission.

We have also acquired a few extra $$$$’s for this weekend. So for this weekend there will be a drawing for drivers to win $50.00 cash tow money. We ask that only drivers that have driven over 100 miles enter.
