FaceLube, the high performance anti-aging skin care technology for masculine men, will partner with the STA-BIL® Lawn and Garden Mower Racing Series to promote its premium products for a “Man’s Man” and mission to make masculine face and skin care products widely available at retail locations.

“It’s time for lawn mower racers to put their faces on a maintenance schedule,” said Candace Chen, FaceLube® founder and owner. “For lawn mower racers, as for all men, proper face care is not about vanity, and it’s not about looking young – it’s about looking good. It’s about getting the edge and getting ahead of the competition. FaceLube® celebrates masculinity and communicates with men through their natural affinity to their rides.”

It is in this spirit of mens’ affinity to their rides that FaceLube® will support the Sam Rogers U.S. All American Open, November 4-6 in Stevenson, Alabama. The “All American” will bring together lawn mower racers from across the country to honor the late Sam Rogers, a lawn mower racer who recently passed away.

Adult Racing Class Champions will receive FaceLube® Premium Kits and Spirit & Spark Trophy Winners will receive FaceLube® Standard Kits. In addition, all adult racers will receive FaceLube® Anti-Aging Sunscreen.

“Lawn mower racers are real men. They need to look good and get a competitive edge,” added Chen, a leading authority on the marketing of Masculine Face Care™ products. “FaceLube®, just like a custom racing mower, is built from the ground up, and uses no common beauty terms with female characteristics. Because men and women age differently, masculine men have different needs and preferences than women. We’re proud to support lawn mower racing and the men who drive the sport forward.” Chen also has more than 18 years in the automotive industry as a Los Angeles-based manufacturer and distributor of automotive service equipment and specialty products.

“Over the past 20 years, I’ve seen the faces of a lot of male lawn mower races, and I’m sure glad to have FaceLube® join us in helping them look good and help fight the aging that comes with the stress of being a competitive lawn mower racer,” said Bruce Kaufman, “Mr. Mow It All,” president of the U.S. Lawn Mower Racing Association (USLMRA). “Just like the maintenance required to allow our racing machines to tear up the turf, racers’ faces need maintenance too.”

During November of each year, the Movember charitable movement is responsible for the sprouting of mustaches on thousands of men’s faces across the US and around the world! With their moustaches, these men raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

In support of this noble cause, and in the spirit of having fun while doing so, the USLMRA announces the creation of MOWvember, and will support this international effort with an Official USLMRA Movember.com Fundraising Team and a USLMRA MOWvember Mustache Contest!

“Much like we remove the blades from our racing mowers, this November we’ll remove the blades from our razors to raise awareness and money for men’s health,” said Bruce Kaufman, “Mr. Mow It All” USLMRA President.   “Some call it Movember, but we say… Welcome to MOWvember! We hope folks will join our team and get MOWTIVATED to raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG, the Lance Armstrong Foundation. But the winner of “best ‘stache” contest will not be selected on how much money he raises, but by the popular vote of the lawn mower racing community at LetsMow.com and on Facebook! ”

How It Works

During MOWvember, the USLMRA will encourage people to raise funds via an Official USLMRA Movember.com Team run by Bruce ‘Mr. MowItAll’ Kaufman and will also present its own MOWvember Mustache Contest for the lawn mower racing community.

Between now and the end of the Sam Rodgers U.S. All American Open race in Alabama – November 7th -  guys register using the links below with a clean-shaven face. For the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men must groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. MOWvember participants and the women in their lives raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts and growing a mustache effectively makes you a walking, talking billboard for the 30 days of MOWvember!

At the end of the month, MOWvember Mustache Contest participants will submit final photos of their kick grass mustache and a week-long voting period will be opened to the lawn mower racing community. Voting will take place on Facebook and LetsMow.com, and at the end of the week, the winner of the MOWvember Mustache Contest will be notified and the Prize Pack will be shipped to him.

Get Started: How to Register for the USLMRA Mustache Contest

  1. Optional: Join our Official USLMRA Movember.com Team run by Bruce ‘Mr. MowItAll’ Kaufman. Note: We strongly encourage but DO NOT REQUIRE participants for the MOWvember Mustache Contest Prize Pack to raise funds for the Official USLMRA Movember.com Team.
  2. Fill out this registration form, including your Day 1 Mustache Photo, before November 7th. You MUST register and start the contest with a clean-shaven face!
  3. Celebrate MOWvember by growing your mustache as well as awareness for men’s health! Raise donations for the Official USLMRA Movember.com Team, and be sure to groom, trim and wax your upper lip in to a display of fine moustachery while providing the USLMRA with photo updates on your progress through the end of the month!
  4. Submit your final mustache photo for voting by December 1st, and the USLMRA will open all submissions for voting soon after.
  5. Tell your friends! A voting period of one week will ensue, at the end of which the  MOWvember Mustache Contest participant with the most votes will be awarded the Prize Pack.

The USLMRA MOWvember Mustache Contest Prize Pack Includes:

Can’t Grow? Raise Funds for our USLMRA Movember Team

Can’t grow an entry for the USLMRA Mustache Contest? You can still sign up to raise money to support prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. Or, you can skip signing up entirely and make a donation directly to the Official USLMRA Movember.com Team.

About The Movember Campaign

The funds raised in the US support prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. The funds raised are directed to programs run directly by Movember and their men’s health partners, the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG, the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Together, the three channels work together to ensure that Movember funds are supporting a broad range of innovative, world-class programs in line with their  strategic goals in the areas of awareness and education, survivorship and research.

In 2010, over 64,500 US Mo Bros and Mo Sistas got on board, raising $7.5 million USD.

The Central Iowa Lawn Mower Racing Association (CILMRA) will host a race Sunday, October 23, 2:00pm at the River Bottom Raceway, 95 Hwy 5, Carlisle, IA on the East edge of Carlisle on Highway 5. Spectator admission is only $5 each with concessions on site, coolers welcome. Pit Passes $10, no coolers allowed in pits. Spectators are welcome in the pits following the racing activities. Race day festivities will include lawn mower racing in seven different classes and an official announcement of a 2012 STA-BIL Lawn & Garden Series National Points Race sanctioned by the U.S. Lawn Mower Racing Association!

“As a USLMRA Local Chapter, we will take great pride in hosting the STA-BIL U.S. Heartland Open at River Bottom Raceway on July 28-29, 2012,” said Curt Hodges, CILMRA President. “This is a big deal for the CILMRA. The 2012 National Points Race Weekend will feature more than 80 custom racing mowers and drivers from all over the US and Canada. Our Iowa chapter is really excited to host this major event in Carlisle next July and we’ve already started making arrangements with the city to celebrate with festivities for the entire family. We’re still working on the details, but there will likely be a street dance after the race on July 28, with other activities held throughout the weekend. We are kicking grass here in Central Iowa!”

“The October 23 Carlisle festivities will also be celebrated with some great family-oriented activities,” said Doug Baber, Track Promoter of River Bottom Raceway. “In addition to competitive, high-speed lawnmower racing, there will be a hot air balloon onsite, from which a lucky raffle winner will be given a high-flying ride. We’re anticipating a good turnout and I think people are going to be excited when they learn that a STA-BIL National Points Race Weekend will be held in Carlisle. Everyone I speak with always tells me they have a good time at these races. It’s truly a fun experience for the whole family.”

Celebrating its 20th Anniversary in 2012, the USLMRA is the nations’ oldest and largest national lawn mower racing sanctioning body, presenting organized events across America including the 21-race STA-BIL Series, and a network of over 60 Local Chapters & Affiliated Clubs hosting hundreds of sanctioned races in over 40 states nationwide. Racers compete for trophies, glory and bragging rights with all cutting blades removed. There is no purse money.

USLMRA races take place at fairs, festivals, car shows, charity or non-profit events (Kiwanis, Lions), city-supported tracks and commercial venues. We also race at dedicated lawn mower racing tracks, in grassy fields and even in your backyard. The USLMRA has been featured on national television shows, including the Travel Channel’s, “Truck Stop Missouri.” Currently, filming is underway for a segment of ABC’s “Extreme Makeover Home Edition,” in which the USLMRA (Iowa chapter) will be featured.
