And be sure to give a read to this coverage from Southern Maryland’s newspaper The Bay Net:

With rain showers disrupting some of the early racing on Friday, July 31, at Bowles Farm, the grounds crew went to work on the track while a great crowd waited and enjoyed refreshments and in general a good time with family and friends.

The crew did a miraculous job and the track was back in condition. According to Tina Bowles, “I think we had a bigger crowd even that last year even with the rain.”

Tommy Bowles stated that when the track was reopened after the rains it was in better shape than ever. Racing resumed and ended around midnight with a wildly cheering crowd still in attendance.

The Bay Net also has a photo gallery and more… head on over and check it out!
